"HOW A LIPIZZAN STALLION LEARNS TO DANCE" PRESENTATION
Select Wednesdays at 1pm Designed for horse lovers that want to know more… Our equine dancers may be born with the genetic material to perform their graceful moves, but it takes the intersection of a thoughtful rider and a willing horse to create the great expression of harmony through movement for which the Lipizzan horse is known. Each segment is moderated by our Program Director and takes time to explain the basics of how Lipizzans are raised, trained, and taught to “dance”. See program details below. The Program The Young Stallion – The Stepping Stones Early dressage training in the young horse will demonstrate basic gaits (walk, trot, canter) and the riders aids (hands, seat and legs) and how the beginning of communication and muscle building begins. The Intermediate Horse – Dancing Together Just like a young dancer after years developing his form, these stallions begin to carry themselves in a lovely posture that enables them to move with control and elegance. This demonstration also shows the coordinated movement between two horses and two riders. The Advanced Horse – Top Dancers Stallions are selected to specialize in path to the pinnacle of their training. They may take one of 4 paths: the Long Rein, the Solo Horse, the Airs Above the Ground and the Quadrille. During this segment, we will share demonstrate 2 horses that are reaching the height of their training in these categories. This is where the sport meets the art and the results are magnificent.
